Ongoing Opportunities

We hope to recruit and retain volunteers who can work in our agency for 20 hours per month for a minimum of six months. If you are interested in ongoing opportunities, please fill out our application, and contact Yen at 801-537-8601.

General Requirements:

  • Four or more hours a week for a minimum of six months
  • Completed volunteer application
  • Completed background check form. (Please use BLUE ink); Form instructions can be found here.
  • Volunteer orientation and training (held the first Monday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the YWCA, excluding holidays). You are welcome to bring original copies of all of the above documents with you to the training, or to the YWCA attention Yen Nguyen.

Betty's Boutique

Receive and organize donations, and help women and children who live here shop for resources.

  • Shifts available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center

Salt Lake Area Family Justice Center
Assist those navigating the collaborative resource center for victims of domestic violence.

  • Shifts available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Women in Jeopardy

 

Assist shelter advocates in daily work of supporting women and children in the crisis shelter.

  • Shifts available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

After School Program


Assist in the implementation of the after-school and summer camp program for children 6 - 13 and/or the evening teen program for middle school and high school children living in the shelter and KRH Transitional Housing program.

  • One day a week Monday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.
  • Summer camp during the months of June through August, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (only four hours required).
