YWCA Utah Official Statement on Davis School District Discrimination

We are deeply upset by the actions and inactions of Davis School District administration, students, and staff regarding racial harassment of Black students and other students of color. All students of color deserve to live and learn without fear. It is our duty, as a community, to protect their ability to do so.Unfortunately, these experiences of racism are all too common and highlight the need for school systems to take initiative to ensure that all students have access to safe and equitable education opportunities that help them thrive and succeed. To the parents of the students and all community members of color, we stand in solidarity with you. Please know that we hear you and we are here for you.View the article here: https://www.sltrib.com/news/education/2021/10/21/serious-widespread-racial/For media inquiries, please contact Priscilla Rountree at prountree@ywcautah.org.
