IN-KIND DONATIONS
To preserve the health of our community, staff, residents, and volunteers amid the COVID-19 pandemic YWCA Utah is no longer accepting used donations of any kind. If you have any questions about our current in-kind donation policy please contact our Operations Manager, Cassie Brood at cbrood@ywcautah.org. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Hygiene Kits
We ask that all personal care items be donated individually rather than pre-built into hygiene kits. While we do give kits to incoming participants, the items that go in the kits vary based on the needs of those entering the program. If you would like to set up a service project to build items into needed kits on site please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Allie Menzdorf at amenzdorf@ywcautah.org to schedule your service project.
Apartment Setup Kits
Interested in purchasing an apartment setup kit to help out a new family moving into our shelter? Please contact our Operations Manager, Cassie Brood cbrood@ywcautah.org for more information.
Amazon
If you’d like to make an impactful donation to us from the comfort of your home please utilize our frequently updated Amazon Wish Lists. Our urgent need wish list is populated with items our shelter and children’s services need on a daily basis.
Amazon Smile
Increase the impact of your donation by logging into your Amazon Smile account. Simply choose YWCA Utah as the charity you wish to support and we will receive an additional 5% cash donation on all eligible purchases.
Please note we have a severe, life-threatening cinnamon allergy on campus. This allergy is airborne (breathed in the air), not only ingested (eaten or swallowed). All in-kind donations should be FREE OF CINNAMON or SPICE ingredients.
URGENT NEEDS
Examples of many of these brands and items can be found on our Amazon Wishlist. Please remember YWCA Utah can only accept new donations at this time!
Formula needs: Extensively Hydrolyzed Baby Formula (Ex. Similac Alimentum or Enfamil Nutramigen) and Dairy-Based Infant Formula (ex. Similac Pro-Advance or Enfamil NeuroPro)
Thank your support of YWCA Utah. We are a local, autonomous 501(c)(3) organization that relies on generosity from community members like you to advance the well-being of Utah women and their families. Charitable contributions to the YWCA are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tax ID # 87-0212467

HAVE OTHER ITEMS?
Used clothes, books and furniture can be donated to The Otherside Academy. Please email thrift@theothersideacademy.com or call 801.953.0409 for donation details. The Other Side Academy may be able to take some mattress donations depending on the condition. Otherwise, Spring Back Utah is a great mattress recycling program available for a small fee. Spring Back can be contacted via email info@springbackutah.com or by calling 801.906.8146.
Donations of travel and sample size toiletries are sustaining for many organizations. The majority of our participants are individuals with families staying with us for multiple days. The best fit for us are full or family-sized hygiene items. Please donate your travel-sized toiletries to the Geraldine E. King Women’s Resource Center. Donations can be dropped off at 888 South 400 West, SLC, UT 84115, The VOA Youth Resource Center.
Used Car Seats are not accepted at local non-profits or thrift stores. Check with large scale retailers as they occasionally have trade-in, buy back or recycling programs for used car seats. Utah does not currently have a car seat recycling program.
