Lolie Eccles Early Education Center at the YWCA Utah is excited to announce our 2020 summer camp program for children ages 5-12! This year, Summer Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m.
The YWCA Summer Camp seeks to create a well-rounded summer of learning, fun, and adventure! Our program provides daily field trips, awesome activities, a sense of community and long-lasting friendships when you leave.
Morning and afternoon snacks are included. Bring your own lunch and water bottle.
As the summer approaches, we will work directly with Salt Lake County, with attention to the guidelines from the CDC to make any scheduling changes or cancellations regarding COVID-19.
Registration
Registration for Summer 2020 will open on April 14, 2020, at 8:30 AM.

Outings & Activities
When we aren’t out and about for each week’s themed activities, we will utilize the equipment and many play areas that our YWCA campus offers. With a fully equipped gym space, open green space field, and playground, we will play organized games, team-building activities, and give the children plenty of creative free-play. We will also benefit from a classroom that is fully furnished with games, books, computers, learning activities, and creative art supplies to embrace your child’s interests. We are also partnering with some amazing local programs, including Westminster College’s Health, Wellness and Athletic Center and Wasatch Community Gardens.
Tuition
2020 Summer Camp Tuition is $250/week when camp falls on a short week due to a holiday, 80% of the full week fee will be charged. Summer camp registration is for the full week and is not available on a per-day basis.

Sailing the Seas
June 8th – June 12th
Arrrgh…you ready to kick off the summer season? Dust off your hiking boots and help us navigate the outdoors as we hike the living room trail. Next, we’ll set sail as we dive into underwater discoveries and explore rainforests and deserts at The Sea Quest Interactive Aquarium. We’ll make waves as we hunt for pirate booty at the South Davis Recreation Center. Test your sea legs as you balance on the ropes course at Lodestone Park. We’ll finish the week unearthing amazing treasures at the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum.
Take Me Home, Country Road
June 15th – June 19th
Join us as we kick off a week of wandering the Wasatch Front in search of amazing adventures. Our first stop will be at The Leonardo Museum where we will explore the ways that science, technology, art, and creativity connect. We will travel back to the days of the Pioneers’ as we visit This is the Place Heritage Park. You’ll experience what life was like as a pioneer as you pan for gold, beat a rug, and visit the Native American Village to learn about the tribes of northern and southern Utah. Experience farm life as we explore Wheeler Historic Farm to try our hand as a blacksmith, “milker” or butter churner! Finally, we will follow a country road to Farmington Creek trail and hike over the river and through the woods to waterfalls…we go!
To Infinity and Beyond
June 21st – June 26th
Houston do you copy?! We’ll start the week by blasting off into outer space and explore where no man has gone before as we settle into the Clark Planetarium’s IMAX and exhibits. Scramble your way to the top of the 25foot fire tower and test gravity by zooming down the twisty slide or cool your jets by the waterfall at Wardle Fields Park and Splash pad. We’ll reach for the stars as we launch into space at High Jump Utah. We will get wet, wild and climb to new heights at Mountain View Park and Splash pad. Finally, we’ll get a bird’s eye view while visiting our friends at the Tracy Aviary. It is a week filled with out of this world adventures!
Splish-Splash
June 29th – July 2nd
Water we up to this week?? We’re not jumping in just yet, as we spend our first day climbing our way to the top of the Westminster climbing wall and learn what it takes to send a route. We’ll cool off by heading to Twin Lakes trailhead and hike our way through majestic fields of wildflowers and take in the views. At the Provo Recreation Center pool, we will swim, wade, and slide into the history books! We will end the week with some backyard summer fun…water balloon baseball anyone?!
A Camping We Will Go
July 6th – July 10th
Are you ready for an in-tents week? Join us as we start the week competing in a car wash relay, three-legged race and other games that make your heart race! We will delve into the mysteries of the universe as mad scientists pay us a visit. We will hit the trail searching for moose as we hike to lakes Mary, Martha, and Catherine. We’ll cool off at The Riverton Splash Pad and earn our Wilderness Explorer Badge after visiting the house from the movie Up. We’ll finish off the week with s’more hikes including The Rocky Mouth Falls trail and The South Ogden Nature Park.
It’s A Zoo Out There
July 13th – July 17th
Join us as we take a walk on the wild side. We’ll climb and swing to new heights at Fitt’s park. Keep an eye out for our friends from the depths of the seas to the trees of South America as we explore the Living Planet Aquarium. Let’s head to the mountains and climb like an ibex on the Wild Rose trail. We’ll hang with the harbor seals, discover the African savannah and waddle like penguins at the Hogle Zoo. Finally, we will slither into the weekend with a slip ’n slide, Duck, Duck, Splash and a little liquid limbo. It’s sure to be a roaring good time!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
July 20th – July 23rd
We will kick off this collaborative week with games galore. Don’t let a little relay ruffle your feathers as you race with chickens. Pass the sweatpants as your team tries to cross the finish line…it’s a soaker of a good time. At the All-Together playground, we will play, explore, and work side-by-side with children of all abilities. We will walk the planks of the Silver Lake trail as we work together to hunt for clues and search for peace at Lake Solitude. We will wrap up this dream week frolicking in the water at the Discovery Gateway splash pad.
What Goes Up, Must Come Down
July 27th – July 31st
Channel your inner ninja as you climb to new heights and soar through the air at the Ninja Warehouse. We’ll literally be bouncing off the walls and soaring through the air at Get Air Trampoline Park. Discover something new as you become a physicist at Little Beakers Science Lab. Vineyard Grove and Splash Park will have us questioning how to climb the giant rope spiral. Have you ever wanted to go to space? We will end the week building our own space shuttles and prepare for launch! It’s sure to be a week of ups and downs!
Are You Curious?
August 3rd – August 7th
Join us for a week of wonders! We will travel back to prehistoric times as we start off our week at the Ogden Dinosaur Park. We will meander through the life-size dinosaur replicas, explore the carboniferous forest, and use our paleontology skills. New adventures abound as we make a stop at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. We will explore the town of Kidolpolis and crawl inside the 45-foot-tall monkey head. At Bricks and Minifigs, we will build creations that are truly AWE-mazing. At Hogan Park, we will go in search of the historic pioneer cabin and the elusive buffalo. We’ll slide into the weekend like a pro with a slip ‘n slide and continue to beat the heat with a summer blockbuster. Curiosity can’t stop these cats!
Mission Impossible
August 10th – August 14th
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to duck, dive, and hold on tight at Obstacle Warrior Kids. At the Altitude Trampoline Park, challenge your skills against a friend’s on the High-9 Reaction Wall. You’ll climb to new heights on the action-packed climbing wall. Test your special agent skills as you maneuver through the Legacy Park splash pad and scale the spider web…special suit not required! Prepare yourself for an action-packed day and cool off before blasting into the weekend at Riverdale splash pad…Mission accomplished!
So Long, Farewell…
August 17th – August 19th
Join us for a final hurrah as summer comes to a close. Airborne Trampoline Park will have us launching skywards before falling onto a giant airbag. The Battle Beam will test your balance and stamina. We will hit the trail for the last time hiking Lower Bell’s Canyon searching for birds, the lake, and a waterfall to boot! We will end our final week with a handful of change and arcade games at Nickel-Mania while partaking in a pizza party of epic proportions! Thanks, summer…see you next year!
